The Directorate-General for Innovation and Competitiveness from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness recognises the innovative activity of HT Masterbatch by granting the hallmark "Innovative SME".
The objective of the creation of this hallmark and its registry is to value innovative SMEs, favour their identification and help the implementation of specific policies for them.
HT Masterbatch, a technology-based company specializing in the development of compounds for the plastics industry, located in the Tecnobahía Technology Park, has demonstrated its capacity for innovation through active participation in R+D+i projects linked to the Center for Industrial Technological Development as well as emerging projects of the 7th Framework Programme for R&D and the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union.
Among these projects it should be pointed out Plasticons, ReCO2Val and Cobapack through which it has been able to reach important results for the development of new plastic films for food preservation with antimicrobial and oxo-degradable properties, reducing industrial CO2 and a new recyclable low cost food packaging.
The innovative philosophy of this company is defined in the words of its highest authority, Manuel Reyes, "We are absolutely committed to the development and investment in R+D+i, as we believe that innovation and product quality are the determining factors to endure in a competitive environment like the current".
Since its beginning, the company has had a strong research activity, which can be seen through the continuing development of new products adapted to the market evolution and demands.
In this regard, it is worth emphasizing its new line of Vegetable Plastics, whose composition comes only from substances of 100% renewable vegetable origin, and new product ranges such as Antibacterial, Stiffness modifiers and Adhesives, the latter with special application in the packaging industry, construction and electronics.
